About Us

Jobsons of Alnwick was taken over by current owner Chris Todd in March 2000 following the retirement of Les and Cyril Jobson who were the children of Robert Jobson who established the business in the early 1900s.

Chris and his staff have built on the traditional high values and reputation established by the Jobson brothers and the business is renowned for providing a professional and friendly service.

Chris Todd is a qualified Society of Master Saddlers Saddle Fitter and has earned a reputation for giving an experienced and honest opinion on the correct saddle fit.

John Bailey, the Master Saddler, has worked at Jobsons since leaving school over 30 years ago. His expertise at saddlery work, harness making and general leather work and leather repairs is highly regarded in Northumberland and beyond. John regularly makes show harnesses which are exported to the United States and Canada. One of John’s harnesses was even admired by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth during her visit to Berwick in 2001. John welcomes all sorts of leather work jobs no matter how large or small.

Sylvia Curragh has worked at Jobsons for many many years and is able to offer friendly helpful advice on the vast range of goods available. Sylvia has a particular interest in fishing.
